Our insolence??We were never insolent,we were merely trying to reach an amicable conclusion for this ugly situation.
Instead of sending us an envelope and adding money, how about you dont send us one, and we'll use our own and save the extra charges?
This whole situation seems to have escalated into a rather unpleasant situation where we both stand to lose something special to us.
We therefore offer a swap,an economy diet lemonade (1.5 litres) a half eaten snickers and a low sugar pot of strawberry jelly in exchange for the 7up,plus which is more than a reasonable offer!

We would like to point out that is an audacious price to pay for one can of 7up, especially as we could buy at least 12 cans (multi buy) for this price
However the can does hold some sentimental value to Carly. We are willing to negotiate a more reasonable ransom.
We feel there is little need for a black plastic bag, as the change would simply get lost in it. We will provide a brown envelope (which we hope will be satisfactory) this will cost us 29p from the local post office. The envelope is yours to keep so we will be deducting the price from the ransom.

I think calling the site very un friendly is a little unfair. Like everywhere you go, pub or what not people who know each other are more likely to chat.
I will admit when I am in the middle of a conversation and someone says hello to everyone who I don't personally know I have been known not to say hello. Although if someone I don't know says hello personally to me I always says hello, and I know many others that use the chat room do as well. If you feel there is a group talking all the time, maybe if you spoke to them individually, not whispering obviously, but it might involve you in the chat room more. When someone's name isn't mentioned in a comment put into the chat room, people are less likely to look, if that makes sense.
I struggle to hold anything against a group of people where half of them have had sex with each other lol for talking to each other. I'm sure no one is meaning to be rude by not talking to you.
About people only meeting people in the little group, that clearly isn't true other wise this little group would be huge as A LOT of people meet on this site. I think the single males on the site greatly out number the singles or couples that are looking to meet with them. I think you just have to be patient, polite and try your best to get involved with the chat, because that is the way you make good friends and potential meets.
