i read and re-read the initial post. Because i tend to talk a lot in the chat room i find it hard to respond to this but here goes for a more considered reply- hopefully it will be serious enough for teecee.
There will always be those who say little in the room etc but what can you do? I ask open questions but must admit i don't tend to talk to the silent lurkers very much - mainly because when i have tried to draw them into the conversation they don't even reply.
Sometimes it is hard to pluck up the courage to chat in there but if you don't then nothing will come your way. How much do you chat when you go in there? Do you sit on the side and hope that someone will initiate conversations?
Eventually you are going to need to be brave, ask some silly questions and just join in!
