A couple of suggestions I like to give newbies are to venture into the chatroom and say hi. It's a great way to get to know people. Most of the time we are just talking bollocks to be honest but there's good banter and it's a good way to put the feelers out and also for people to get to know you.
Also, if you can, get yourself along to one of the socials. There is one coming up in Feb in Leeds. It's just a bunch of us getting together in a bar or pub for a catch up over a few drinks. They are always a good laugh and the best way to meet people for any future naughty goings on lol.
