Rookie needs help getting started

Please be kind to me if this all sounds rather sad! I've recently joined this site after not much joy on another. But actually making contact with people is proving difficult. I've sent e-mails but receive few replies. I realise that I'm harming my chances by having no photos (not ready to publish yet) and not being able to chat in the evenings (married and my wife, unfortunatley, does not share my curiosity). Maybe its also because I'm 44, married (but not a swinging couple) and just 5'4 tall. If so... oh dear... I'm destined to go to the grave wondering... All that said, if anyone can give me some pointers, I would be most grateful. Or, best of all, if there is someone out there who would like to get to know this rookie, I would love to hear from you.
