....and do you think we can do anything about it? We can file abuse reports of their behaviour in chat that gives them away but, at the end of the day, are we believed?
Appreciate we need "substantial evidence" to go on, but when you're in chat at the time it happens, and there's no moderator about, it is so frustrating - on a recent member, EVERYONE was able to see through him.

I'm ruddy tired of peeps changing thier names , more than SM's posing as couples .
I'de much rather chat with peeps , who's status is .."fake " ..but at least have continuity in thier name ..TITLE ..i.e. their initial "persona" ..
Name changers make me nervous ....its snidey .

Actually, I think the thing that's pissing me off most at the moment is the porn directors in the chat room. I know this is a gripe for most of us, but if we're soapboxing, here's my tuppence worth:
1. It eats up my bandwidth and doesn't really do anything for me. I'd be as well sticking a Michael Ninn DVD on and listening to the commentary track. At least he's articulate and interesting.
2. It's not what the chatroom is for (at least, not what I think it's for). How are you getting to know anybody by telling them to stick four fingers in while showing their arse?
3. It's incredibly selfish. There's no interaction and no concept that maybe the people being directed might want some reciprocation. The couples and girls who play on cam aren't porn stars or hookers!! Maybe they want to see you stroking - maybe it gets them off knowing you're getting turned on watching them. Taken the time to ask?
4. It's incredibly arrogant - the person getting off knows what works for them better than ANYONE else on the planet. All it demonstrates again is that the directors DON'T actually give a shit about what the other person feels or wants and is only interested on what turns them on.
5. It tars all single males with the same brush. I'm still getting to know people on the site and anyone new I chat to is going to - even if only subconciously - assume I'm like every other single male out there. So it gives us newbies an uphill struggle.
Right, rant over. I know I'm preaching to the converted here, but encouragement is different to instruction. If it's invited, that's one thing, but bloody whisper (see point 1).
And if the person asks you to stop, fuckin' respect their wishes!!!
tallulah thanks for that, weve changed our name and dont class ourselves as snidey, some of us have genuine reasons, the people on here who know who we are and who we used to be would vouch for us that were not snidey.
Its quite narrow minded to class everyone that has changed there name as snidey, i hate my next door neigbour for blocking my car in every night but i dont go round saying i hate all vauxhall drivers because of it
Tally hun we had to change our name from its orginal because of personal circumstances and, although those who really KNOW me know I used to be Princess, the random people that used to come in from another site I was admin on just to abuse me haven't realised and as such have now stopped coming into sp full stop - therefore I feel we had a genuine reason to change our name.
I also know that other people have changed their names for genuine reasons (funkymunky) as well as people changing their name to something more exciting (which I was going to do cos ianandkel is soooo boring but I decided against it).
You know I love and respect you Tally and am in no way attacking you but I did feel I needed to air my views here seeing as I personally have changed my profile name - snidy I most certainly aren't (as you well know) but I am spirited, sordid, sensational, stubborn, spontaneous, sensual, shameless, special, sexy, smutty, sociable, sassy, seductive, squeezable, sweet, sultry, satisfying, shrewd, sinful, scintillating and splendid (Not blowing my own trumpet here just decided to have a flick through the dictionary to find words with S that describe me better than snidy and found all these hehehehe and to put a lighter note on this thread)

Most people tend to change there name for a genuine reason, i don't really see what is wrong with a name change.
As to what Cat and Brian said we completely agree.
We find the directing the most irritating and it is not only single males who do this, lately we have found a few couples (not the regulars) to be rather pushy!

i was replying to Cat's excellant thread on SM's ..& thier changing personas ..& pointed out, that, some single males constant , name changing , is more .." unnerving " ..& " snidey " .., than thier constant marital status change .
In doing so ..seem to have offended , genuine peeps , who , for whatever , personal reasons , have OPENLY changed thier names ( of which ..I havn't got an issue with ) .

First thing for me to do, as someone who knows Tally very well, is to leap to her defence here and say that I don't think she was directing her comments at everyone who chooses to change their name, although I can see it might have appeared that way. There HAVE been specific instances of certain people changing their names to avoid detection by admin when they are breaking the rules, and I suspect it's the rather more sinister name changers that Tally was objecting to. For anyeone who doesn't know her, Tally's wonderful! :-)
Brian - I'm with you. I hate anyone whose behaviour just reinforces sterotypical "anti-single male" feelings - they're giving the rest of us a bad name, and it's hard enough to gain acceptance as it is!
Agreed on the directorship thing. It's hard for any of us genuine single guys to distinguish ourselves from the mass of guys here for a wank over the cams. I'm fairly new here and I've found most of the people I've chatted to to be very accepting and not stereotyping at all. I've also had single fems going ballistic at me for saying Hi in open chat. This is mostly due to being tarred with the same brush as all the pushy single blokes who bring the single m moniker down.

Hmmmmm single guys, single guys. Are they not normal human beings, lately there are a lot of decent ones on the site. Personally I get many whispers from couples and single guys of late as I am sure many of you do too, some of them directive some of them complimentary. When the whispers come through I simply decide whether or not I answer the whisper or ignore it. Simple as that really. Obviously if the whisper is abusive I would copy it and paste it in an abuse report to Admin. nothing more to be said really. Anyway, that's the way I cope with unwanted/wanted whispers nowadays and it works.

The trouble seems to be that some of the ... perpetrators ... don't seem to take the hint that their comments are unwanted. I know some cam performers enjoy the attention, but some don't and when they say no, it's not being respected.
And if they can't take the hint in what's a fairly sterile environment......

Trouble is it appears that a lot of the chatroom members don't realise that you can copy the chat text and open up that person's profile and paste the comment they made to you in an abuse report. Maybe there should be something on this in the forum so that everyone knows. Maybe this will then deter the perpetrators that appear to be spoiling some peoples chat.
Just a thought for Admin to consider.
