I know this has sort of been mentioned on a previous thread, but we have only just realised that non members or people that are not logged into the site can access the gallery and forums, from there they can see profiles and pictures, comments of members of this site. Admittedly the pictures will not enlarge but they are big enough to recognise peoples faces or distinguishing marks ie. tattoos, if you have them in your profile. You cannot see private galleries or do a local search. You can also type in someones id name into google and it will link back to this site and therefore that profile. Are we the only ones that think this is wrong????
No You're not the only ones seds, we agree 100% with you pics should only be available, even in thumbnail size to full members, if we wanted the world to see our pics we'd send em to thew News of the World
My god I hadnt realised that someone could google your name and see what comes up and it will refer back to here. Is that your profile name or your real full name? Shit am now gonna google me and see what it says.
Also the photos are right free members should not be able to see any pics at all on anyiones profile for our own peace of mind. Once they join then it is ok. Have you informed admin about this?
I think the pics need to be available to non-members, as that's what brings people in. Maybe there should be three galleries:
•Public
•Members
•Private
Any thoughts?
I agree that there should be 2 galleries. 1 for free members with no face pics on and the other a general gallery for all the paid memebers of all the bits and faces we are happy to show.

i agree that non member should be able to view pics but i think there should be a choice when you upload. also cut an paste!! it can still happen as i tried it to see if i could do it and i can!!

as for some members on the site who have chosen to keep there private and public lives separate, the google search may make them reconsider there membership of the site:upset:

Well as some of you know I'm rarely seen on this site in the chatroom on cam nor do I have any face pictures of myself on our public gallery. This is because of my profession and I thought everyone knew the implications of uploading pictures in our public galleries. We belong to other sites (none as good as this one I might add in terms of the friends we've made) although, you will see that on any swingers site pictures are available to see to non members even if in thumbnail size.
The point I am trying to make is that if you do have a career which could be at risk from being part of a site such as this one, then be very careful as I am to keep your facial pictures safely in your private gallery. It's then entirely up to each individual who sees them.

i'm not really sure what the fuss is. first of all who is going to search ur user name or first name in google? and so what if they see ur on a swinging site? what could happen? u cant get sacked and if ur worried about ur young kids seeing u then u should have the proper security to stop them looking at sex sites...

I said PROFESSION pacha there's no comparison between what people perceive as a professional job or not is there.
I think the point that people are trying to make is that should pictures and profile be seen by work colleagues or friends and family it could become highly embarrassing for them.

I would be very very worried if folk could see our private pics, but as far as I am aware they cant. We have lots of pics in public gallery, but they have no heads etc. I work in a profession where this type of lifestyle wouldn't be looked to too well as well Mr C so, that is why my head is chopped off and my face is hardly ever on cam. Plus it puts folk off as well.

I strongly suspect there are professions out there where you COULD potentially get sacked. Teachers & childminders spring to mind. There are also other professions where it could at the very least be highly embarassing if it became known that you were a member of a swinging site.
There's no harm in making people aware that this issue exists - that's all the thread was trying to do in the first place. Laughing at people's surprise and concern isn't particularly constructive - passing on the information and letting them make their own decision is.
Totally agree with what Sudsy says regarding pacha's comments.
This issue should be taken very seriously, there are many professions where swinging would be frowned upon if it became public knowledge.
It could seriously affect someone's business.
We have accidently found out about two separate families who are my husband's clients being swingers, and they not aware we know. We found this out simply by casually surfing the web, when we had a quiet day.
Our issue is that we are with SP as swingers, everyone is on this site to swing and our concern is that anyone worldwide that goes into Google, can get our profile/pics up simply by asking.
Needs to be looked into by the site as soon as possible.

Your profile coming up in google when searching for your user name is only a problem if you use any personally identifiable data in it.
Photos can be made private if you wish, so you can control which face pics non members / google can see.
We use user names for your privacy, you control how much personally identifiable information is visible to non members / google etc.
If you feel your user name has become identifiable as you personally then please speak to 'admin' about a user name change.

We placed this thread just to make people aware of the situation. We had no intentions of getting at the the sp site or stirring up a can of worms. If this is how the site works, well fine. But we have been a member now for over 2 years and have only just come across this in the last few days. Judging by the response in this thread and the emails that have been sent to us, we are not the only ones that are concerned. Rightly or wrongly, if you want to be known as a swinger or not, atleast people have been made aware. That is why we posted the thread, not to cause disagreements between members. The one suggestion that we would like to make to admin and it is not a criticism but some positive input is, when uploading photos should there not be a warning that if you do not wish non members of the site to view your pics then put them in your private gallery. As for profiles turning up on other websites well I guess that is something admin will have to look into. :small-print:

We feel that you have missed the point. We joined SP so that we as swingers had direct contact with other swingers.
The pics can be put into the private gallery and blocked from google because they are marked as private but the public pics can be viewed by anyone simply by logging on to google and surfin. What we want to know is how our profile, word for word, and our pics get onto fab swingers site without our knowledge or approval.
Changing the user name would solve nothing, the same problems would exist.
We tried by testing various members names from SP, by using basic user names, we got straight into the members profile/pic page on dont even need to be a member of SP to access it.
We feel that the site should be doing more to protect its members.
Thank you seds for bringing this to our attention, whether we agree or not!!! Personally I was shocked when I googled our username (we came up with several different websites!)
Pacha, its not about 'getting into trouble' its about having the right of privacy and some of us just basically dont want other people to know! Although swinging is quite common, there are still plenty of people who look down on it, as we used to! I am sure my 'normal' friends and family would not be very impressed. Hence the reason we keep our two lives seperate. We pay for the rights on this website and did not expect it to be googled so easily!
