Got to say though that the fun "spark" does seem to be missing at the moment though its swings and roundabouts as far as we're concerned. For every long standing member that decides (sadly) to leave, there will always be new members joining who will become accepted and known regulars in time.
What is doing our crust in at the moment is when you read through the profiles of people who are in the chatroom or do a search for local members (many of whom often tend to be said "newish" people) and read on their profiles that they have phrases like "get in touch to know more" or "we're keen to get to know people" or "we want to hear from you" etc etc etc.
So, to be welcoming or to promote conversation, you try to include them into the chatroom by a giving a courtesy greeting like "Hello XXXXXX" and get... nothing in return. You then maybe send them a mail, wait with eager beaver anticipation until you see that it has been read and get... nothing in return.
We have seen umpteen threads over the past few months about ppeople saying the chatroom is "clicky" or they find it hard to get involved in some way but as regulars, we are now thinking "why should we" when common politeness seems to be gone.
What ever happened to common courtesy and politeness?
We know we're not the most experienced people on here and know for sure that we're not the most stunning couple on the site (which we can accept) but we try and be friendly and welcoming to everyone we can. Even a polite acknowledgement of any mails we send or a polite "sorry, you're not our types" wouldn't go amiss. Something is better than nothing surely?
And hear endeth today's rant.

Oh, and admin - can we get a "standing-on-a-soapbox" icon created? Seems that it would be popular one at the moment!

I can be very good at tying ropes. But should I bring some vaseline to lessen the severity of the rope burns?
